Happy World Breastfeeding Week 2014 #breastfeeding #worldbreastfeedingweek

In celebration of World Breastfeeding Week 2014, I have put together some helpful information, inspiration, a fabulous freebies link and the recipe for those yummy lactation cookies to save.

Breastfeeding Freebies---
A wonderful webpage I found that lists tons of freebies just for Breastfeeding moms (or mums) is here :
I hope you enjoy and find something helpful info there. The website is worldwide, in the UK I believe, but offers so much from all over. She has done a fabulous job collecting and updating this list!

Having trouble with your milk supply or production? The fix might just be in your kitchen. Save this recipe, these make a great pick me up gift for that mom who needs some cheering up too.
Recipe for Lactation Cookies :
These are made to help nursing mothers milk supply. They taste great and really work.
I would eat 4 or more a day.
servings 12 dozeningredients
1 C butter
1 C sugar
1 C brown sugar
4 T water
2 T flaxseed meal (no subs)
2 Lg eggs
1 t vanilla
2 C flour
1 t baking soda
1 t salt
3 C Thick cut oats
1 C Chocolate chips
2 T Brewers Yeast (no substitutions)

Preheat oven at 375.

Mix 2 T of flaxseed meal and water, set aside 3-5 minutes.
Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs.
Stir flaxseed mix into butter mix and add vanilla.
Beat until well blended.
Sift: dry ingredients, except oats and choc chips.
Add butter mix to dry ing.
Stir in the oats and then the choc chips.
Drop on parchmant paper on baking sheet.
Bake 8-12 minutes.

You can add other items to your cookies, I like cranberries, pumpkin seeds, or other nuts, just keep the base ingredients the same to help with milk production.

Enjoy your day!
