Homemade Hand Cream ~ Perfect and Affordable

After looking for a quick and easy frugal lotion or hand cream idea that I could use with my organic coconut oil, I stumbled upon this one. I tried it and do believe I am in love with it! Very simple, much easier than the other lotions I have made before. Best part is that most all of the ngredients can be bought at the dollar store (except maybe the organic coconut oil.

Thank you to Jillee for the recipe!

Homemade Moisturizing Lotion:

16 ounces baby lotion
8 ounces coconut oil (solid form, not melted)
8 ounces vitamin E cream

Mix together with handheld mixer until it resembles icing.

Store in air tight containers…keep it for your own supply…

or slap on a quick little label for gift-giving!

  1. Our skin---when toxins build up and cannot release through the intestines and lungs, they then seek an outlet through the skin, ie. as acne, rashes, psoriasis, etc. From an Acupuncture point of view, we would address skin issues by treating intestine or lung points, since together all three are eliminatory organs. If the body is not hydrated enough or ingests too many acidic foods, ie sugar and red meat, then the skin becomes dry-- as a reflection of overheated digestion in the stomach.
