Thanksgiving week~~ Thank you for Cheese!

We are Thankful for wonderful friends and great food! Thankful for being able to share with you here!

Thank you to @SimplyMeSarah for this yummy cheddar bay biscuit recipe!

Just like those you might find at your local seafood restaurant ....no names here...lol

Then you must try the potato soup recipe below, also credit to my Triberr friend at http://ssimplyme.com/cheesy-potato-soup/. It is delicious!

Cheesy Biscuits

Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 2 cups baking mix
  • 1-1/2 ounces Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon dried parsley
Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the baking mix, cheese, and water. Mix until dough is firm. Using a small scoop, place dough on the prepared pan.
  3. Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  4. Combine the melted butter, garlic powder, salt, onion powder and parsley. Brush over baked biscuits immediately upon removing from oven.

Cheesy Potato Soup in Crock Pot

Ingredients

  • 4 Large Potatoes (peeled and cubed)
  • 1/2 cup frozen onions (you can use fresh)
  • 1 cup veggie broth (any broth will do)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 TBSP flour
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese
Instructions

  1. In 4 quart crock pot:
  2. Add 4 large potatoes - peeled and chopped into little squares.
  3. 1/2 cup frozen onions
  4. 1 cup veggie broth - 1 cup water (add more if needed to cover the potatoes)
  5. Braggs sprinkle, salt and pepper (any amount you choose works)
  6. Cook on low for up to 7 hours.
  7. Around the 6th or 7th hour, melt 1/4 cup butter in sauce pan, add 2 tbsp flour, 1 cup half and half then 1 cup cheddar cheese.
  8. Add to crock pot and continue to cook for 1 to 2 hours on low.

  1. Thank you for sharing! :) It was a VERY yummy dish. I love that the potatoes are chunky, something I don't see much in potato soup recipes.
