"For love is immortality" Remembering Lara ...

The Mommies Network express's our deepest condolences to the family of Lara Baum, a beloved member of TMN and LakeNormanMommies. Lara (lara625) unexpectedly left our world on Sunday evening, she leaves behind two small children, a family, and an entire TMN community of mommies that loved her dearly.

Lara Baum (lara265), one of our most beloved mommies, passed from this world Sunday evening. Those who knew her remember Lara as caring, supportive, strong, and possessing a wry sense of humor. Lara lived and loved with all of her heart. Her support for her fellow mommies was felt by many. She was often the first to offer to deliver a meal to a new mommy, lend a helping hand, be a shoulder to cry on, offer words of comfort, and make each new member feel welcome and included in our community. Her generosity knew no bounds. Lara made the world a better place for all whose lives she touched. Her time on this earth was far too short, but we cherish the memories that we made with her during her stay. Our thoughts and prayers are with Lara's family, especially the two young children she leaves behind.

Many of our mommies have inquired as to how they can best support Lara's family during this difficult time. Here is the information that has been shared with us by one of Lara's dearest friends:

Thank you all for the love you've shown today. For those who don't know, my best friend Lara passed away unexpectedly last night.  We are all in shock.  Lara leaves behind two small children.

Sadly, Lara's family can not afford to pay for her cremation. The hospital will cremate her for free, but will not return the ashes to the family. We are hoping to collect enough contributions from our friends and family to cover the cost of cremation so that Lara can go home with her family. The cost is approximately $1500. If you'd like to contribute, and I hope you will, you can paypal a donation to Timara Trenkamp Bolding at timara.bolding@adelphia.net or mail or drop off a check to either of us. If we receive more in donations than the cost of the cremation, we'll put the remaining funds into a savings bond for her two young children.

I ask that if you have even a dollar that you can donate, please do it.  Donations will not be tax deductible, but will be greatly appreciated by many.
