Mommies Talk Webinar - Introducing a Sibling

Presenter: Dr. Jill Diana Chasse
Title: Introducing a Sibling
Date: Sept. 14, 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. EST

The birth of a baby marks the beginning of a lasting bond with its parents, but this transition also feels exciting and overwhelming to older siblings. Dr. Jill Diana Chasse, an author, health consultant, and member of The Mommies Network (TMN) and NorthMetroDCMommies.com, wants to give them the tools they need to prepare for the arrival of one of the most important people in their lives: their little brother or sister.

Chasse, who specializes in maternal/perinatal mental health and wellness, will present "Introducing a Sibling," TMN's inaugural Mommies Talk webinar, scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 14, 5 p.m. – 6 p.m.

This workshop will teach siblings about the baby growing inside Mom and the best ways to bond with him or her. Up-and-coming big brothers and big sisters will get a glimpse into the birth experience, as well as life with a newborn. Finally, Chasse will share all the wonderful facets of being a big brother or big sister.

Chasse, the founder of Baby-Empowered Birthing Education (BEBE) and the founder/director of Magic of Motherhood Wellness Consulting and Publishing Services, owns a consulting/counseling practice and imparts her knowledge through classes and workshops on childbirth education, early parenting, grief and bereavement, perinatal mood issues, and sibling adjustment.

She also speaks from experience as a nature-loving mom of an outgoing 2-year-old girl and an active 4 1/2-year-old boy. Teaching, writing, and managing programs are among her pursuits, as well as cuddling with her children, splashing with them at the beach, climbing trees, and picking berries.

To register for the webinar, visit http://www.anymeeting.com/mommiesnetwork1. After signing up, you will receive a PIN and login information to use the evening of the webinar.

Boogie Wipes (Review & Giveaway!) CLOSED

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Conveniently enough, my entire family came down with a sniffly-snotty cold just days after our Boogie Wipes samples arrived. I was able to give them a true run for their money, considering there are four of us afflicted!

And in a nut shell? They're fantastic!

I first tried these out on my toddler - he's an extremely energetic two-and-a-half year old who can't sit still, even when he's sick. I can't stand to see a dripping nose, so I'm often coming at him with tissues - and even the softest ones start to feel rough and irritating after so many swipes. I thought using a wipe, moistened with saline, no less, would help with that - if I could just get him to hold still! The scented wipes got him to take notice for minute when I came at his dripping nose with one, and I was actually able to clean him up. He particularly liked the Grape scented ones!

Unfortunately, my seven-week old was afflicted with this cold, too - and I'm always nervous about what I'm introducing to his little body. So, using their unscented saline wipes was a comfort - especially when there's so little you can do for a stuffy infant! They do a great job of cleaning up snot quickly so there's no irritating his tiny little nose.

I even tried one for myself (to get the full effect!) and it was really soft - softer than the wipes we usually use on our babies bums! My favorite are the Fresh Scented wipes!

And - these worked great for clearing cookie crumbs off the aforementioned toddler's face, too! :)
